Keep the Horses Alive

a nonprofit 501c3 corporation

Since 2012, K-THA has provided rescue and sanctuary to hundreds of medically retired horses and other special needs animals in Southern California. K-THA's mission is to seek the highest level of care and healing for both animals and people.

We found an innovative way to help the underserved youth population in the community and effect greater change.

We are opening up the sanctuary and using our resources to help provide youth the opportunity to explore their passion for animals and develop their purpose through the

Young Roots Program

Our goal is that the individuals that attend the Young Roots Program walk away with an improved and measurable sense of purposeful direction, a greater sense of motivation, and a more positive outlook - promoting sustained improvement in mental health.

Our program exposes youth to inspiring adults that will light their paths, and immerse them in experiences and ideas which energizes their movement towards their purpose.

We want to be a beacon for young people that are passionate about animals and are wanting to make a positive impact in the world, and our hope is that their inspiration will positively effect and inspire the community around them.

“By helping young people find their unique purpose, we ensure a hopeful future for the entire community.” -Dr. William Damon
